This leadership role involves delivering anaesthetic care, mentoring staff, and working across multiple departments.

Job Summary

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is looking for confident, experienced Band 6 Anaesthetic Practitioners to join their dynamic theatre teams, including the brand-new Cancer and Surgical Innovation Centre (CASIC). This is a unique opportunity to combine clinical expertise with leadership, working at the forefront of surgical innovation while supporting and guiding teams across a wide range of perioperative settings.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Lead by example in busy, high-performing clinical environments
  • Support and mentor Band 5s, students, and new staff
  • Keep services running smoothly across multiple areas
  • Deliver safe, high-quality anaesthetic care across a range of settings
  • Work flexibly wherever the service needs you
  • Provide effective support to the anaesthetic team and support patient flow
  • Attend and assist at priority calls in all areas of the hospital
  • Champion patient safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Be part of innovation – from advanced techniques to robotic surgery

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Registered Operating Department Practitioner - with current UK HCPC Registration
  • Registered Nurse - with current UK NMC Registration PLUS Anaesthetic Nurse Professional Qualification

Desirable:

  • Practice Assessor or equivalent mentorship qualification
  • Management Course

Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of perioperative practice including up to date knowledge of AAGBI, NICE, and DAS guidelines.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of normal and altered anatomy and physiology including commonly encountered pre-existing patient conditions.
  • Possess underpinning knowledge of pharmacology in perioperative care.
  • CPD - evidence of post qualification experience and continuing professional development
