Maternity Ward Clerk
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Maternity Ward Clerk to provide administrative support to the maternity team. This is a Band 2, permanent, part-time role based at the Maternity Unit, Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle.
Job Summary
Provide administrative support to the maternity team, supporting care to women and babies, working as part of a multidisciplinary team. The maternity ward clerk will provide and coordinate clerical and administrative duties, supporting the provision of an efficient and effective service.
Main Duties
- Maintain accurate written and electronic information systems, supporting accurate and timely data input onto IT systems.
- Participate in planning, implementation and delivery of the service.
- Carry out coordination and support the delivery of maternity care by tracking and archiving of records, ordering and organising of stock, ensuring maintenance of equipment by arranging servicing/repair, supporting the team in busy periods as well as other general administrative duties.
- Support in Data quality reports process and action as required.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential: GCSE (Grade A-C) or equivalent in English and Maths, NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent. Desirable: Previous office experience, team experience, NVQ Level 3.
Knowledge
Essential: Higher level Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Office systems and internet; understanding of confidentiality/data protection; excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Desirable: Knowledge of Badgernet and PAS IT systems.
Skills and Aptitudes
Essential: Good organisational skills, verbal and written communication, ability to produce good quality data, prioritise workload, self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team, calm under pressure, responsible and caring attitude, adaptable and flexible.
