FULL DESCRIPTION

Prescribing Clerk at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is looking for a motivated, organised and patient-focused prescribing clerk, who can also provide some reception cover as part of our friendly team. This role is offered on a full-time basis, for 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

About the Role

You will work closely with our clinical and administrative teams to manage the day-to-day processing of prescriptions and support the reception desk when required. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of behind-the-scenes accuracy and front-of-house interaction.

  • Processing repeat prescription requests in line with practice protocols
  • Liaising with GPs, pharmacists and patients to resolve medication queries
  • Ensuring accurate data entry and maintaining patient records
  • Supporting reception with patient enquiries, appointment booking and general administrative duties
  • Managing workload effectively within a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Upholding confidentiality and high standards of patient care at all times

We are looking for a start date in mid-July 2026. We may close advert early if a suitable applicant is successful.

About the Candidate

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and numeracy
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage complex and challenging patients
  • Experience in a GP practice, prescribing team or medical administration (desirable but not essential)
  • A positive, flexible and team-focused attitude
