Trainee Building Inspector

The role involves assisting with building control surveying activities, inspections, and technical investigations. Candidates need A-levels or equivalent and a driving licence. The programme offers hybrid working with training and study at home combined with on-the-job experience at a local authority.
About the Programme
- Two years accredited learning towards Level 4 and Level 5 diplomas in building control surveying – fully funded with no student debt.
- Hybrid working: 35-hour week typically 2 days home-based learning/study and 3 days on-the-job training with your assigned local authority.

Requirements
- Minimum 3 A-levels at grade C or higher (or equivalent – 80 UCAS points) OR demonstrable experience in a relevant discipline (e.g., construction, ex-military, fire) OR a Level 3 S/NVQ in construction or related discipline.
- Full UK driving licence or working towards one by employment start date (September 2026).
- Ability to climb ladders, work at height and within confined spaces, and undertake inspections in accordance with health and safety requirements.
