About the Role

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join our Children with Disabilities Team. This is a pivotal role providing specialist, long-term support to children and young people with disabilities, typically up to the age of 18, ensuring they are safeguarded from harm and supported to achieve the best possible quality of life and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake complex social work with children, young people, and families, utilising advanced social work expertise
  • Hold a small caseload while working jointly on cases with less experienced social workers
  • Provide supervision, mentoring, and professional guidance to newly qualified and less experienced social workers
  • Support the management of complex and high-risk cases, including: authorising assessments, plans, and reports; chairing strategy meetings and professional discussions
  • Ensure practice is compliant with legislation, statutory guidance, local policies, and safeguarding best practice
  • Guide social workers in areas including safeguarding children, supporting looked-after children, and permanency planning

Essential Requirements

  • Advanced Practitioner-level experience within a Disabled Children's Team
  • Strong knowledge of children's legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and statutory responsibilities
  • Proven experience supporting and supervising social workers
  • Ability to work confidently with complex cases and multi-agency partners
