Salary: £32,916 - £51,048 FTE | Closing date: 11th May 2026

The Position

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is looking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated SEU Manager into the team at Piper’s Vale Primary Academy from September 2026. The successful applicant will be a key member of the team, carrying out the professional duties of a teacher while taking direct responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Special Educational Unit (SEU).

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the daily organisation of the SEU, including staff inductions, performance reviews, and coordinating cover in response to absences.
  • Modelling strong practice and delivering high-quality lessons, specifically for pupils with learning disabilities.
  • Taking responsibility for the standards and progress achieved by specified classes/year groups and monitoring the specific needs of pupils with SEN.
  • Working with the Principal to identify training needs and designing / delivering professional development to ensure the team maintains high standards.
  • Acting as a vital link to Trust-wide groups, attending meetings to represent the school’s position and communicating outcomes back to the Principal to drive school improvement.

What You Will Offer

  • Previous experience working in a SEN provision.
  • Qualified to degree level (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of effective strategies to meet the specific communication needs of pupils with significant SEND.
  • Ability to plan lessons effectively for groups and all pupils.
  • Successful teaching experience across primary, secondary or both.
  • Strong subject knowledge in your own subject and ability to teach across other subject areas.
