Salaried GP

Job Summary

JOB TITLE: Salaried GP 2-4 sessions
REPORTS TO: The Partners (Clinically), The Practice Manager (Administratively)
Job summary: The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home
  • Checking and signing repeat prescriptions, dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence
  • Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients
  • Providing counselling and health education
  • Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers
  • Prescribing in accordance with practice formulary
  • All normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care

Person Specification

Knowledge

Essential: Good interpersonal and communication skills, participate in clinical meetings. Desirable: Basic IT skills.

Experience

Essential: Experience of working in General Practice. Desirable: As above.

GP Qualification

Essential: Good communication skills, ability to provide quality care, IT skills. Desirable: To know how to carry out audit within the clinical system.
