We are excited to be developing our nursing provision for Paediatric Oncology and Haematology services and have Band 5 vacancies within our inpatient area. [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] ([Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]) is the Primary Treatment Centre for children aged 0-16, who require care in all aspects of haematology/oncology throughout the East of England region.
Main Duties of the Job
As a band 5 nurse, you will be responsible for competently providing safe and effective care to children with various haematological and oncological conditions. You will assess care needs, plan, implement and evaluate care, and participate in supervision and teaching. Opportunities include delivering Systemic Anti Cancer Therapies (SACT), high dependency care, bone marrow transplantation and further oncology care.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential: RSCN/RN(Child), Basic Level Child Protection training. Desirable: Advanced level child protection training, evidence of CPD, relevant teaching and assessing course/mentorship course.
Experience
Essential: Experience of delivering evidenced based nursing care without supervision to children. Desirable: Experience in high dependency or critical care areas.
Knowledge
Essential: Awareness of professional issues, evidence of up-to-date paediatric nursing skills and knowledge. Desirable: Current knowledge of research developments in paediatric nursing.
Skills
Essential: Self-motivated and ability to motivate others, evidence of mentorship skills, dynamic team member. Desirable: Advocate of paediatric nursing, evidence of excellent teamwork, evidence of participation in research and audit projects.
