Junior Locally Employed Doctor in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Junior LEDS (ST1/2 level) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Fixed term contract for 12 months, full-time, on-site at St. Mary's Hospital, Manchester. Salary £52,656 per annum. Closing date: 11 May 2026.
Job Summary
Applicants are invited to apply for the role of Junior LEDS (ST1/2 level) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology working at St. Mary's Hospital, Managed Clinical Service. This encompasses the Oxford Road Campus, Wythenshawe Hospital and North Manchester General Hospital. There is 1 twelve month fixed term post. Successful applicants may be expected to work at any of these sites as their main base. The base site is fixed and cross site cover is not expected - with the exception of specific areas as outlined in the job description - e.g. covering the Emergency Gynae Unit at Wythenshawe Hospital from the base site of Oxford Road Campus.
Main Duties
To provide a clinical service in general Obstetrics and Gynaecology at a level expected of an ST1/2 trainee, working closely with the Consultants and multidisciplinary team. The post holder will be accountable to the Lead Clinician. At the same time the successful candidate will gain invaluable experience and training whilst working in a busy tertiary referral center or District General Hospital.
Candidates that are non-GMC registered at the point of application will be considered for this position, under the Trusts International Fellowship Scheme (please note, there is a £500 admin charge for this scheme).

Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
- Medical Degree (Essential)
- Completion of Foundation competencies (UK Foundation programme or demonstration of equivalent training) (Essential)
- Basic Adult Life Support training (within past 12/12) (Essential)
- MRCOG part 1 (Desirable)
Audit / QI
- Understanding of Audit / QI (Essential)
- Experience of Audit /QI (Desirable)
Interpersonal Skills
- Organisation Skills (Essential)
- Communication Skills (Essential)
- Team working Skills (Essential)
Other Requirements
- Full registration with the General Medical Council and Licensed to Practice (Essential)
