Specialty Doctor - Emergency Department

- Salary: £61,542 to £99,216 a year plus London Weighting
- Contract: Fixed term (12 months)
- Working pattern: Full-time

Main duties of the job
The post holder will offer World Class Care to service users, staff, colleagues, clients and patients. Main duties include: providing a first-class clinical service, supervising and teaching junior clinical staff, participating in teaching, research, audit and governance programmes, developing professionally, and taking part in all service development and appraisal processes. The 10+2 PA contract consists of 11 Direct Clinical Care and one professional development (SPA). The post holder will provide twenty-four hour middle grade cover including weekend and night working, EWTD compliant.

Person Specification
Education & Professional Qualifications
- Essential: MBBS or equivalent, Registered with the GMC, MRCEM/FRCEM/MEM/PGDEM/DEM or 24 months formal clinical EM experience
- Desirable: ALS/ATLS/APLS or EPLS provider, Higher degree, Member of Medical Defence organisation
Experience & Knowledge
- Essential: Clinical experience in Emergency Medicine (min 12 months), Experience of and commitment to medical audit, Current ATLS/APLS/ALS
- Desirable: Clinical experience in other specialties, Teaching experience, Ultrasound skills
Skills & Aptitude
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
- Ability to cover on call
- Demonstrable commitment to multidisciplinary team working
- Positive approach to lessons learnt
- IT Skills
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload, delegate responsibility and supervise staff
