Team Secretary - Adult Eating Disorder Services

Job Summary

An exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, highly organised, adaptable and enthusiastic individual to join our service and Countywide Adult Eating Disorder Service as their Secretary, based in Truro. The service comprises a bright and energetic multi-disciplinary team providing care to secondary care level adult clients with eating disorders across the county of Cornwall. This role is based at the team's main office in Truro and you will work alongside a fellow team secretary, medical secretary and team administrator.

Main Duties

  • Provide secretarial support to the team, liaising and communicating with teams and partners whilst maintaining confidentiality.
  • Support the delivery of excellent customer care, organise and support meetings and appointments, note taking and distributing papers, inputting and recording data.

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • NVQ 3 Business Administration or equivalent knowledge or experience
  • RSA III Word-Processing or equivalent

Desirable:

  • Experience working as a secretary within the NHS
  • Experience working as a secretary in a clinical environment in mental health
  • AMSPAR Medical Secretary Diploma

Knowledge and abilities

Essential:

  • Knowledge of psychiatric medical terminology
  • Minute taking

Desirable:

  • Basic working knowledge of MHA and its application
