Mental Health Clinical Educator

An exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to lead mental health education for acute hospital and community staff at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. The post-holder will plan, deliver and evaluate mental health education for multi-professional staff, working collaboratively with clinical leads and practice development teams. The role is fixed-term for 12 months, full-time, based in Carlisle.

  • Salary: £49,387 to £56,515 a year (Band 7)
  • Contract: Fixed term, 12 months

Main Duties of the Job

The role will support the provision of education and training to healthcare professionals and learners. The post holder will develop, deliver and evaluate clinical education programmes, act as a clinical role model, provide professional leadership, and undertake training needs analyses. Working across sites and with multiple teams within the speciality.

Person Specification – Qualifications

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse with NMC registration
  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject
  • Post graduate level study or equivalent experience
  • Level 7 teaching qualification or equivalent
  • Coaching or mentoring qualification
  • Specialist post registration certificate

Person Specification – Knowledge and Experience

  • Extensive clinical experience in mental health services
  • Leadership skills
  • Mentoring, coaching and clinical supervision
  • Change management experience
  • Teaching individuals and groups in various settings
  • Assessing learners and providing constructive feedback
  • Developing training packages (online/face to face)
