Job summary
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking an experienced senior wellbeing practitioner to join the Tower Hamlets Education Wellbeing Service (THEWS). THEWS is a Mental Health Support Team (MHST) established following the government Green Paper: Transforming Children & Young People's Mental Health Provision. The three core functions of an MHST are: delivering evidence-based interventions for CYP with mild-to-moderate mental health problems; supporting the senior mental health lead in each education setting to introduce, develop and deliver the whole school/college approach; giving timely advice to school and college staff, and liaising with external specialist services.
Main duties of the job
The role involves delivering all three MHST functions, providing clinical supervision to practitioners within the team, holding a small caseload of clinical work, acting as a senior link supporting school leads to develop their whole school approach to wellbeing, project work, and other tasks as required.

Education/Qualification/Training
- Essential: Completed either the PG Cert Supervision: Children and Young People's Mental Health and Wellbeing or the PG Dip: Senior Wellbeing Practitioner course.
- Essential: Registration with BABCP and/or BPS applied for
Experience
- Essential: Substantial experience of working with evidence-based approaches for mild to moderate mental health problems in children and young people
- Essential: Experience of supervising low intensity practice with CYP and families
- Essential: Experience of routine outcome monitoring
- Essential: Experience working with schools
- Essential: Experience working as part of an MHST
- Essential: Experience of service development

Knowledge and Skills
- Essential: Knowledge of current guidelines and recent developments in evidence-based assessments and interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems

- Essential: Knowledge, understanding and experience with diverse racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds
