Data Quality & Systems Lead
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Data Quality & Systems Lead to join our forward thinking data quality team. You will help us get the very best from our clinical systems and technology, supporting patients and staff.
Location: Syston Health Centre, 1130 Melton Road, Syston, Leicestershire LE7 2EQ
Salary: £32,000 to £39,000 a year (permanent, full-time)

Main duties of the job
- Lead and support a clinical admin/data quality team
- Oversee data quality and clinical coding, ensuring accurate, reliable patient records
- Help drive improvements in workflows, QOF, recalls and reporting
- Support and optimise the use of SystmOne and other practice systems
- Contribute to safe, effective patient care through robust data and systems processes

Job responsibilities
- Leadership and Line Management: Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision to the data quality team. Allocate and monitor workloads. Conduct appraisals, performance reviews, and one-to-one meetings. Manage HR processes. Support staff training and development.
- Workflow and Clinical Coding: Oversee clinical workflow processes for accurate handling of letters, discharge summaries, test results, medications, etc. Monitor queues, maintain coding standards, identify inefficiencies.
- Data Quality, QOF, and Performance: Lead data quality work, monitor QOF progress, produce reports, and work with teams to improve outcomes.
- Patient Recalls and Monitoring: Oversee recall systems for chronic disease reviews, screening, immunisations.
- Audit and Compliance: Lead data quality audits, ensure compliance with NHS standards, update policies.
- Local Clinical Systems Support: Act as main on-site contact for new technology, support IT issues, manage system access and smartcards.
- Administrative Oversight: Oversee scanning, record management, and support administrative projects.
- Communication and Teamwork: Work closely with clinicians and management, act as point of escalation.
- Confidentiality and Information Governance: Ensure GDPR compliance, maintain confidentiality.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Essential: Educated to A level/equivalent or higher with relevant experience.
Experience
- Essential: Proven management experience in a GP practice or relevant NHS setting; experience in clinical coding, data quality management and workflow processes; experience using SystmOne.
- Desirable: Experience leading/supervising admin or data quality teams; experience of QOF, patient recall systems, primary care targets; comfortable with SystmOne reporting.
