Job Summary

We are looking for a hardworking, reliable and well-motivated person to join our busy nursing team. Background in Primary Care or NHS is desirable but not essential. Training and support available. Membership of NHS Pension Scheme is automatic on appointment.

Main Duties

  • New patient health checks
  • Phlebotomy
  • BP monitoring
  • ECG taking & recording
  • Urinalysis
  • Chaperoning duties
  • Processing and management of laboratory samples
  • Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
  • Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
  • Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
  • Assisting GPs during minor operations and vasectomies
  • Home visits for housebound patients

About Us

Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in administrative and professional responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate and legible notes in patients' records
  • Keep clinical computer system up to date
  • Complete mandatory training annually
  • Assist in formulation of practice philosophy and policy
  • Maintain confidentiality and data protection
  • Promote health, safety, and security
  • Support equality, diversity, and rights
  • Participate in training and performance review
  • Communicate effectively with team and patients

Person Specification

Essential: Good General Education, experience within a healthcare setting working within a nursing team, experience dealing with vulnerable patients, ability to provide quality care, good interpersonal and communication skills, organisational skills, team working, time management, adaptability, confidentiality awareness, computer literacy.
Desirable: Qualified in Phlebotomy, experience in GP practice or primary care, basic IT skills, knowledge of EMIS clinical system, skills in Phlebotomy, ECGs, Patient Health Checks, Blood Pressures, basic first aid, health and safety awareness.
