Nursing Assistant

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to join our Elderly rehabilitation team on Ward 2 at Blyth Community Hospital as a Nursing Assistant. The role involves providing high standard safe care to 26 patients, supporting independence and rehab goals, monitoring observations, and assisting with activities of daily living.

Salary: £25,760 to £27,476 a year

Main Duties of the Job

  • Undertake a range of delegated clinical care duties in hospital.
  • Record patient observations and changes to patient clinical conditions.
  • Carry out limited clinical care duties.
  • Demonstrate compassion and a caring attitude towards patients.
  • Deliver a high standard of care.
  • Possess good communication and organisational skills.
  • Work flexible hours including weekends and night shifts.

Person Specification

Experience and Knowledge

  • Essential: Previous care experience in a health or social care setting.
  • Desirable: Evidence of completed competencies aligned to the service area; Care certificate course.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Level 3 qualification in a healthcare related subject or portfolio of equivalent demonstrable experience; Knowledge of care and related procedures, clinical observations, relevant legislation; Completion of a competency-based programme or equivalent relevant experience.
