Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated, degree-educated Quality, Governance and Compliance Officer to support clinical governance and quality assurance across our two-site GP service in Thornton Heath operating under a single PMS contract.
Main Duties of the Job
- Play a key role in patient safety and service quality
- Work closely with GPs, Practice Managers and Partners
- Develop expertise in primary care governance and CQC compliance
- Make a tangible impact across a growing family practice group

Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support all aspects of clinical governance, quality assurance and regulatory compliance across both sites.
- Maintain and monitor incident, significant event, complaints and patient feedback registers, ensuring timely investigation and closure.
- Support staff with complaints and incident reporting, investigations and learning outcomes.
- Coordinate clinical and non-clinical audits, track actions and ensure learning is embedded.
- Maintain the policy and SOP register, ensuring timely reviews and practice-wide dissemination.
- Monitor and support compliance with mandatory and statutory training requirements.
- Support health & safety compliance, risk assessments and inspection readiness.
- Prepare and present governance reports to partners and deliver actions as identified in Governance meetings.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential: Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification.
Experience
Essential: Experience working in a CQC-regulated healthcare environment; experience supporting incidents, complaints and governance processes; strong organisational and analytical skills; excellent written and verbal communication; confident IT user (Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, governance systems); ability to work independently across multiple sites.
Desirable: Degree in healthcare, quality, governance or management-related discipline; knowledge of CQC regulation, NHS England governance and PSIRF; previous experience in general practice or PMS/APMS services; experience working with external regulatory bodies.
