Information About The Post
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which is proud to be rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’ in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College.
Maths is the largest subject in the College, with students studying A level Maths and Further Maths, Statistics and GCSE. There are 28 Maths teachers in a well organised and resourced department, including staff who have additional responsibilities to manage particular areas of the curriculum. We follow the OCR (MEI) specification for A level Mathematics and Further Maths and Edexcel for A-Level Statistics. The GCSE resit course follows the AQA specification.
We have a vacancy starting at the end of August 2026 and welcome applications from both newly qualified and experienced teachers, looking for full-time or part-time opportunities, (indicate on your application what your preference would be) who all have an enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning, along with a strong commitment to supporting student progress.
We encourage applications from candidates with experience in either a sixth form or secondary school setting. We work closely with our staff to ensure they have a suitable timetable.
Applicants should hold a degree in Mathematics or allied subject. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly successful and enthusiastic team.
Our staff are at the heart of what we do at the College, we are proudly anti-racist and our motto is ‘Counting in ones’ which applies to staff as well as the students. We offer special leave for various special occasions, support from the Hub, staff-run groups, staff choir, Monday night football, regular staff forums, an inclusive, supportive and kind culture, no expectations to answer emails out of hours (with an automated message to alert the sender), lunch provided at all lunchtime meetings, ‘5 days of Christmas’ treats, end of term meals and activities and bike and computer loans to name but a few of our initiatives.
