Information About The Post

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which is rated by Ofsted as 'Outstanding'. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College.

Our Study Support staff provide advice, guidance and support to students with additional learning needs in the College both in class and in the department. The role involves note-taking for students (both discreet and alongside), support on a 1:1 basis in accordance with their current support plan and examination duties including reading, scribing and invigilation.

Experience of working with students in a post-16 setting with learning differences and/or disabilities is desirable but not essential. Additionally, you must be physically fit to undertake manual handling and to provide personal care to students with disabilities (with training if required).

Most important is empathy with young people and a genuine desire to help them reach their potential.

Full and part time applications will be considered (minimum of three days). Please indicate your preference in your application.

Our staff are at the heart of what we do at the College, we are proudly anti-racist and our motto is 'Counting in ones' which applies to staff as well as the students. We offer special leave for various special occasions, support from the Hub, staff-run groups, staff choir, Monday night football, regular staff forums, an inclusive, supportive and kind culture, no expectations to answer emails out of hours (with an automated message to alert the sender), lunch provided at all lunchtime meetings, '5 days of Christmas' treats, end of term meals and activities and bike and computer loans to name but a few of our initiatives.

More details and information on how to apply are available on our [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. If you require further assistance please phone the Personnel Department on [contact hidden] or email [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] quoting the reference number.

We are dedicated to safeguarding the students in our care. To that end, a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced disclosure will be required in the event of an individual being offered a position within our College. Our staff undertake regular safeguarding and Prevent training and are subject to ongoing safeguarding scrutiny.
