Information About The Post

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which has been rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’ in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College. As the Media is such an important and complicated part of our lives, it is hardly surprising that so many diverse and interesting people have chosen to study it here. By doing so, it is possible for our learners to understand more fully how media images and messages shape the very fabric of our society and the very core of our own identities. At [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], we believe that such study enhances the lives of our young people well beyond the classroom, and helps them to develop their own deconstructive opinions, leaving sixth-form with the confidence to take part in some of the most important cultural conversations of the 21st century. The very best outcomes for our learners can be seen not just in the scale and consistency of the high grades they achieve here, but also (and perhaps more importantly) in the way they make sense of the world around them, once immersed in the subject. We show them how to successfully navigate the discourses of contemporary culture; with a keen critical eye, an interrogative attitude.

The successful candidate/s will be highly skilled and enthusiastic, with the ability to teach Media and Film Studies. You will be able to deliver excellent, effective subject lessons and will model a friendly, team centred approach whilst being committed to working in pursuit of success for our students and department, and the College itself.

We welcome applications from newly qualified or experienced teachers.
