Deputy Home Manager - Learning Disabilities

Location: Great Yarmouth, Norfolk

Salary: £32.5K - £35K - DOE - Full Time

Reporting to: Home Manager

Job Description

We're proud to be partnering with a prestigious Care Provider in their search for a talented Deputy Residential Home Manager to oversee the care staff and take the lead, when the Home Manager is not present, for one of their LD care homes.

They support individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs using the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model of care.

By leading from the front and acting as a role model, you will help with training and supervising of the care staff, supporting the Home Manager with pre-admission assessments of residents, ensuring care plans and daily records are maintained.

You will be an effective communicator, liaising with the residents' families and external organisations. You will model best practices and support staff in consistently applying the PBS approach in their daily work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Care Home Manager and take charge in their absence.
  • Lead and supervise staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
  • Monitor residents' well-being, update care plans, and manage medication.
  • Oversee staff performance, training, and development.
  • Act as safeguarding lead when needed, ensuring policy compliance.
  • Ensure health, safety, infection control, and regulatory standards are met.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and professionals.
  • Foster a positive team culture and promote resident engagement.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Deputy Home Manager.
  • Strong understanding of resident needs and safeguarding pathways.
  • Solid knowledge of CQC standards and compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with staff, families, and professionals.
  • Commitment to involving residents and families in care planning.
