Electrician - Permanent Role

Location: Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Leicester, Worcester, Tamworth and Northampton areas
Salary: £20.08 per hour + £0.25 per hour on-call allowance
Benefits: 24 days holiday + bank holidays, pension scheme, company vehicle with transport provided, uniform, mobile phone/PDA, power tools and testing equipment

About the Role

We are seeking a fully qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer to join a dynamic Facilities Management team delivering electrical solutions and reactive maintenance across a range of commercial and industrial sites. This is a varied role covering installation, testing, maintenance, and fault-finding across multiple locations within the Midlands region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out electrical installation works
  • Electrical testing and inspection
  • Fault finding and general maintenance
  • Structured cabling installations (preferred but not essential)
  • Participating in an on-call rota
  • Liaising with clients to understand and deliver their requirements
  • Working across commercial and industrial environments

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 or completed electrical apprenticeship
  • 18th Edition (BS7671:2018)
  • 2391, 2394/2395, or equivalent testing qualification
  • Valid JIB grading card
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable (not essential):

  • BS5266-1 Emergency Lighting
  • IPAF and/or PASMA certification

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experienced in commercial and industrial electrical systems
  • Confident in installations, testing, and maintenance
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working to deadlines and under pressure
