Design Manager
We are seeking an experienced freelance Design Manager for a well-established and growing main contractor, to oversee an industrial new build in Bedford. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable contractor delivering high quality projects across the region.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in bridging the gap between design consultants, site teams, and commercial stakeholders ensuring efficient project delivery through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the design process
- Coordinate internal teams, external consultants, architects and subcontractors
- Review and manage the design programmes, ensuring alignment with project timelines
- Identify and manage any design risks
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, health and safety standards and client specifications
- Oversee the production and approval of technical drawings and documentation
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a design manager
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail
