Assistant Accountant

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is a world-leading manufacturer of electronic security equipment. We are looking for an Assistant Accountant on a fixed-term contract to join our finance team in Hellaby, near Rotherham.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fixed Assets register maintenance
  • General ledger financial journals for month end accounts preparation
  • Monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation and running of month-end cost absorption into stock
  • Monthly & Adhoc reporting for manufacture i.e.: Stock levels / WIP / Labour efficiency
  • Maintenance of customer pricing
  • Maintenance of master data files
  • VAT returns
  • Annual stock take
  • Overseeing the Monthly Tax analysis
  • Payroll processing including SAP journal creation
  • Assist in maintenance of payroll and T&A system
  • Liaising with staff and management to resolve payroll queries
  • Service Income analysis and query resolution
  • Assisting production and audit of annual accounts
  • Overseeing Foreign Currency, Petty Cash and Bank accounts
  • Overseeing and providing cover for expenses processing

Key Skills/Experience

  • On a learning path towards CIMA qualification (continuing support available)
  • Experience working with financial management systems, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of Payroll systems, advanced Excel and working with SAP
  • Excellent interpersonal ability and attention to detail
  • Pro-active team-player
