We design a wide range of multi-award-winning wired and wireless intruder alarm solutions, utilising market-leading technologies developed exclusively by our in-house R&D team.

The Role

Working as part of the supply chain team you will ensure operational proficiency in providing continuity of supply on all materials required to support manufacturing, whilst consistently achieving both department and company objectives. Working to provide the right product at the right time in the right quantity and quality delivered to the right place. You will work closely with other functions to understand and effectively plan requirements whilst ensuring that the stock levels are kept at an optimum level.

Key Responsibilities

  • The procurement of materials as suggested by MRP for suppliers (including some critical suppliers), ensuring that all purchases are made to the specified delivery, and within set purchase prices.
  • Ensuring that components are expedited to fulfil production/customer requirements as required by the MPS plan.
  • Rescheduling of current purchase orders, as required by MRP, to meet changing customer requirements.
  • Ensuring that stock levels are kept at optimum levels by applying existing delivery strategies, working closely with the suppliers and provide visibility on future inventory movements through inventory forecasts.
  • Identifying and managing critical components and suppliers.
  • Reporting any significant supply/logistical problems ensuring supply issues are communicated timely to the relevant departments.
  • Perform supplier visits, as necessary, to verify that capabilities and competencies align with company’s requirements.
  • Ensuring that reject issues are dealt with in a timely manner and that quality issues with suppliers are addressed ensuring corrective action reports are obtained.
  • Working closely with shipping companies and ensure that most cost effective shipping methods from Far East are used (sea or air).

The Person

  • A minimum of 3 years purchasing/ material control experience within a Manufacturing environment, ideally Electronics.
  • You will be computer literate with ERP systems (SAP would be preferred) and Microsoft packages, in particular Excel.
  • Your excellent interpersonal ability will be coupled with a strong commercial awareness, organisational, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • A self-starting team player who works well under pressure, your multi-tasking ability will be required in this sophisticated manufacturing business.
  • Progress through professional qualifications (CIPS) would be beneficial.
