Class 2 (HGV) Refuse Driver

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Class 2 (HGV) Refuse Driver to work within the Metheringham area, supporting local waste collection services. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient collection of household waste, working as part of a team to keep the community clean and running smoothly.

• Driving a Class 2 refuse vehicle on planned residential routes.
• Assisting loaders with the collection of household waste when required (not often).
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects.
• Ensuring all collections are completed safely and in line with regulations.
• Providing a professional and courteous service to the public.

• Hourly Rate: Pay for this position will be £14.50 per hour. £17.00 p/h via umbrella. Overtime/Bank Holidays paid at time and a half. You will accrue up to 28 days holiday per year. Please note we do not offer sponsorship.

Experience & Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
• Previous experience in refuse driving or a similar role preferred, but not essential
• Good level of physical fitness (due to the nature of the role)
• Strong team player with a positive attitude
