About the Organisation

We are a charity dedicated to making a difference to the lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in society. Through a wide range of services, we support individuals to move out of homelessness, access employment, and live safely away from domestic abuse. If you’re looking for a role that offers genuine job satisfaction, strong career prospects, and the chance to make a meaningful impact, this could be the opportunity for you.

About the Role

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Property Inspector to join our Facilities and Health & Safety team. With a portfolio of around 140 properties across the South West — including residential homes, hostels, retail spaces, and offices — you’ll play a vital role in ensuring buildings are safe, compliant, and well maintained. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, has strong organisational skills, and takes pride in maintaining high standards while building positive working relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct property inspections and produce clear, accurate reports
  • Ensure buildings meet safety and compliance standards, escalating risks where necessary
  • Manage your own schedule and attend sites at short notice when required
  • Inspect new and outgoing properties, ensuring works are completed on time
  • Upload findings, track actions, and meet KPI expectations
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Team and support improvements to systems and staff training
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, residents, and landlords

About You

  • Experience in property management or a similar role
  • Good knowledge of building compliance frameworks
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and with varying support needs
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload

Additional Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Access to your own vehicle for work purposes
  • Appropriate business insurance

Benefits

  • 27 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), increasing to 30 days after 4 years
  • Extra day off for your birthday
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme and Health Cash Plan
  • Generous pension scheme
  • Staff discount at charity retail shops
  • Blue Light Card eligibility (discounts across thousands of brands)
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • A supportive culture where staff feedback is valued
