Summer Harvest Assistants

Your Main Responsibilities & Skills
- Seed Processing: Threshing, cleaning, counting, weighing, casetting and racking of seed for nurseries and trials
- Field Activity: Character checks, scribing plant scores, labelling, harvesting, to include ear snipping, plant pulling and combine support
- Lab analytics: Taking samples of grain, sample cleaning and grain analysis and reporting during the harvest period
- To perform all tasks and behave in a manner compliant with and in support of all health and safety related company policies and practices, including completing all required company training courses.
- To communicate effectively and liaise on a regular basis with the assigned mentor or team leader
- Undertake and support all other ongoing activities within Seeds Trialling, Laboratory and Nurseries as required
- Able to work indoors and outdoors in all conditions (appropriate PPE will be provided).
- Will also have to be reasonably fit due to practical and manual handling requirements
- Able to perform repetitive tasks across consecutive days with the same level of attention to detail
- Full driving licence preferable
What We Offer
- Working basic 36 hours per week, however it is essential that you are able to work overtime in busy periods. Evening and weekend overtime will be required as part of the role paid at enhanced pay rates for additional hours.
- We have multiple vacancies available for 5 to 12 week contracts running between July and October at our Market Stainton site (LN8 5LJ)
- Competitive pay: £13.00 per hour
