About the Role

We're looking for a passionate Nursery Manager to lead our 32-place nursery in the heart of Cuckfield, surrounded by fields, greenery, and our very own Forest School area. Our setting provides a stimulating environment for children aged 0–5, with dedicated spaces for under 2s and preschoolers, supporting strong bonds between staff and children. Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the nursery team, ensuring the highest standard of care and EYFS delivery
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, maintaining strong safeguarding practices
• Build professional partnerships with parents, carers, and external agencies
• Oversee health, safety, and compliance within the setting
• Plan and support engaging, inclusive activities for children aged 0–5
• Monitor and record children’s progress, tailoring individual development plans
• Manage daily operations, staff development, and high-quality practice

Requirements

• Previous Nursery Manager or strong Deputy Manager experience
• Minimum Level 3 Childcare qualification
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding & health and safety
• Passion for early years education and outdoor learning
• Confident communicator with parents, staff, and the wider community
• Eligible to work in the UK
