About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Food Service Assistant to support the smooth running of our catering services at HMRC Glasgow RC. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the kitchen, dining areas, and café, while delivering excellent customer service and supporting the wider [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining, and café areas
  • Complete cleaning tasks to required standards and schedules
  • Ensure equipment, utensils, and storage areas are clean and safe
  • Follow health & safety, food safety, and hygiene procedures
  • Replenish catering stations and support basic service duties
  • Receive, check, and store deliveries using correct stock rotation
  • Report hazards, faults, or maintenance issues promptly
  • Provide excellent customer service and handle queries professionally
  • Support the team with general duties, including moving items when required
  • Maintain personal hygiene and wear uniform/PPE correctly

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Strong awareness of health and safety procedures
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks to a high standard
  • Team player with a flexible approach to work
  • Good communication and customer service skills

Desirable

  • Ability to work on your own initiative
  • Previous experience in a similar role (preferred but not essential)

  • Flexibility is required to cover holidays and sickness within the team
  • Duties may vary, and additional responsibilities may be required as needed
