We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to lead our patient food service team at Nuffield Health York Hospital. In this key role, you will oversee the delivery of nutritious, high quality meals tailored to patient needs, ensuring strict adherence to food safety, health regulations, and hospital standards. Acting as a vital support to the ward management team, you will ensure that all staff carry out their duties effectively and efficiently, maintaining excellent service standards and contributing to the overall wellbeing and satisfaction of our patients.

What you’ll do

  • Manage the delivery of patient meals to ensure they are on time, correct, and at the required temperature and standard.
  • Lead, develop, and train the team to the required standard, including planning and monitoring staff rotas.
  • Visit patients daily to check on their wellbeing and gather feedback on the service provided.
  • Ensure all food practices, including temperatures, cleaning rotas, and stock rotation, adhere to standard policies.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness on the ward, including clearing rooms and ensuring hygiene protocols are followed.
  • Ensure effective communication with the ward team, complete necessary paperwork, and adhere to all policies and procedures.
