What you'll do
- Support the day-to-day management of catering and hospitality services, ensuring high standards of food preparation, presentation, and service.
- Lead, motivate, and guide the team in the absence of the Catering Manager to deliver operational excellence.
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety, hygiene, COSHH, and all statutory and company policies.
- Coordinate team activities, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback to maintain high service standards.
- Deliver excellent customer service, acting as a professional representative of the company at all times.
- Assist in managing financial performance, including stock control, labour efficiency, and revenue opportunities.
- Support audits, maintain accurate records, and ensure all documentation is completed in line with compliance standards.
- Contribute to business improvement by identifying opportunities to increase sales, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.
- Plan and support marketing initiatives and promotional activities to drive engagement and revenue.
- Handle incidents, complaints, and feedback professionally, taking appropriate action when required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment across all service areas.
- Assist with hospitality and special events, ensuring service is delivered to agreed standards.
What you'll bring
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Proven experience within catering, hospitality, or food service environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Solid understanding of health & safety, food hygiene, and COSHH regulations.
- Good financial awareness, including stock control, cost management, and revenue generation.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to analyse problems, identify opportunities, and implement practical solutions.
- Confident decision-making skills and the ability to work independently when required.
- High standards of personal presentation, hygiene, and professionalism.
- Good IT skills and experience using systems for reporting, stock, or administration.
- Flexibility to adapt to business needs, including working varied shifts and supporting events.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and personal development.
