About the role
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a skilled and motivated Catering Chef to join our team at RAF Brize Norton, Carterton, OX18 3LX. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving high-quality food in line with company processes, systems, and hygiene standards.
You will follow approved recipe cards and menu cycles to ensure consistency, quality, and portion control, while supporting a smooth and efficient catering service in collaboration with Service Catering Personnel (SCP).
What you’ll do
- Prepare, cook, and serve food in line with approved recipes, menu cycles, and company standards
- Maintain high standards of quality, presentation, portion control, and food safety at all times
- Monitor and record food waste and temperatures in line with compliance requirements
- Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment
- Use digital systems effectively to support service delivery
- Follow correct procedures for ordering, receiving, storing, and handling food items
- Complete opening, closing, and handover procedures as required
- Maintain professional relationships with customers and colleagues
- Attend required training, meetings, and briefings
- Report hazards, incidents, or equipment faults promptly
- Work across all areas of the site as directed by management
What we’re looking for
Essential
- Experience in a similar role within the service industry at a comparable level
- One of the following qualifications (or equivalent): BSc (Catering), MHCIM, HND, City & Guilds 706/1 and 2, NVQ Level 2 or 3
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standards precisely
Desirable
- Experience working within a military environment
- IOSH qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience in a customer-facing role
- CIEH Level 2 qualification (or equivalent)
