This role is for a strong senior engineer / tech lead type who can bring AI into delivery teams in two ways:

The Role

As a Lead AI Consultant, you will:

  • Work hands-on within multidisciplinary teams to design and deliver AI-enabled software
  • Help clients make the right calls on where AI adds value
  • Use, advise on, and develop AI-related features: intelligent search/RAG, summarisation, AI agents, MCP servers, Claude Code, assistants, classification, fine-tuning, vector databases
  • Set teams up for sustainable success through strong engineering practices (testing, CI/CD, security, monitoring)
  • Coach and upskill client engineers
  • Contribute to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s internal capability building

Experience, Qualifications & Approach

You are a strong senior software engineer / tech lead with:

  • Senior engineering capability – building and shipping production software
  • Technical leadership and delivery ownership
  • Practical experience applying AI in real teams (both tooling and product features)
  • Strong engineering fundamentals (automated testing, CI/CD, observability)
  • Confidence working with AI uncertainty and risk

Your approach: pragmatic, product-minded, outcomes-driven. You start with user and business outcomes, prefer simple production-ready solutions, build iteratively, and raise capability through coaching and pairing.
