Art Technician

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring an Art Technician to provide technical support to teaching staff and students in the Art Department. This is a full-time, permanent role during term time plus 6 weeks (40 weeks per year). Salary is dependent on skills and experience.

Role Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an Art Technician to join our busy Art Department. You will provide technical support to teaching staff and students primarily in the daily provision of materials, maintaining a highly organised workshop (and materials cupboards) to facilitate this provision. Person Specification

The selection of candidates for short-listing will be based on this specification:

  • Qualifications: Essential: Post 16+ qualifications, Graduate or equivalent. Desirable: Honours degree or relevant tertiary qualification in Fine Art.
  • Specialist Skills & Experience: Essential: Experience with technical support in schools/colleges, experience organising workshops, ability to instruct students on equipment use, good ICT understanding. Desirable: Photoshop/Editing software/Excel, educational/boarding environment experience, line management experience.
  • Personal Qualities: Essential: Team player, calm and approachable, responsive to requests, self-motivated, hard working, flexible, problem solver. Desirable: Interest in practical work/design/engineering, passion for design teaching, understanding of current Design and Technology teaching.
