Nursery Assistant - Level 2
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Nursery Assistant to join their outstanding Nursery team from April 2026. This is a full-time or part-time, on-site position located in Sutton Valence, Kent. Pay is £104.48 per day, with five weeks annual leave plus public holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the team to deliver flexible, high-quality education and care to meet the needs of children and their families.
- Plan and carry out observations on children as needed.
- Promote positive images for all children and introduce appropriate activities to encourage equal development.
- Understand the role of children's play in physical, intellectual, and emotional development.
- Be familiar with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) aims and standards.
- Provide input to Nursery planning and evaluate activities including differentiation for inclusion.
- Keep developmental records of key group children, including Learning Journeys and transition reports.
- Attend to personal care needs of children, ensuring they are safe, happy, and stimulated.
- Hold current paediatric first aid and food hygiene certificates and ensure they are updated.
- Report any safeguarding concerns and comply with the School's child protection policies.
Requirements
- Genuine love for working with and caring for young children.
- Confidence with ICT.
- Proactive and able to use initiative.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
- Qualified Nursery Practitioner with NVQ Level 2, CACHE, or equivalent.
- Experience and knowledge of the EYFS is essential.
- Previous experience in a school environment is desirable.
