Learning Disability Support Worker

Salary: £13.73 – £15.81 per hour
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time / Zero-hour
Shifts: Flexible working hours
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with meal preparation
- Supporting individuals with household tasks and upkeep
- Administering medication
- Facilitating community engagement and participation
- Accompanying individuals on shopping trips and outings
- Coordinating and attending medical appointments
- Collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum 3 months work experience with learning disabilities and autism is a strong advantage
- The ability to connect professionally and empathetically with elderly or disabled clients, even in challenging situations.
- Cultivate a positive and supportive environment that promotes independence and well-being
- An understanding of the needs of individuals with learning disabilities who are vulnerable within society.
- Ability to administer medications, making a meaningful difference in their health journey.
- Ability to help with grocery chopping and meal preparation based on clients’ preferences and needs.
- Knowledge of food hygiene, manual handling, and health & safety standards.
- A passion for enabling person centred care and support
- The ability to maintain meticulous records and documentation
