Salary: £13.73-£15.81 per hour
Job Description
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Services is looking for a dedicated Learning Disability Support Worker to join our Award-Winning team. If you’re an experienced, dedicated Support Worker with a deep understanding of individuals' needs and the importance of person-centred care, we want to hear from you. As a Learning Disability Support Worker, you’ll receive specialised training and have the unique opportunity to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and clinicians. Whether you’re seeking full-time or part-time positions, we would ideally require a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week, with a minimum of 3-hour visits per client to ensure the highest level of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with meal preparation
- Supporting individuals with household tasks and upkeep
- Administering medication
- Facilitating community engagement and participation
- Accompanying individuals on shopping trips and outings
- Coordinating and attending medical appointments
- Collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum 3 months work experience with learning disabilities and autism is a strong advantage
- The ability to connect professionally and empathetically with elderly or disabled clients, even in challenging situations
- Cultivate a positive and supportive environment that promotes independence and well-being
- An understanding of the needs of individuals with learning disabilities who are vulnerable within society
- Ability to administer medications, making a meaningful difference in their health journey
- Ability to help with grocery shopping and meal preparation based on clients’ preferences and needs
- Knowledge of food hygiene, manual handling, and health & safety standards
- A passion for enabling person-centred care and support
- The ability to maintain meticulous records and documentation
