About The Role

This is a maternity cover position until May 2027 working full-time (applications for part-time will also be considered).

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Physician Associate Studies to join the team delivering the Masters in Physician Associate Studies (MPAS) at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Medical School. As a lecturer on the MPAS programme you will be required to teach across the programme, in the delivery of communication and clinical skills and on the Foundation in Clinical Medicine (FCM) module. You will also be required to assist in the organisation of the teaching and preparation for the sessions. In addition, the postholder will be expected to contribute to assessments (writing and assessing), act as a personal tutor and participate in admissions interviews. This is a fixed term contract to provide maternity cover.

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s Physician Associate (PA) Studies programme was established in 2016 and has a successful track record of teaching, student support, progression, and success at the PA national exam. The MPAS programme runs over two years, with student spending roughly half of their time in university and the other half on placement. The programme has several modules, and content taught is based on the PA National Curriculum (FPA 2022) and the PA and AA generic and shared leaning outcomes (GMC, 2022). There is a mixture of staff on the programme from various healthcare professions which adds to the richness and diversity of the teaching and experiences we can offer to students.
