FULL DESCRIPTION

Player Development Lead (Under 9-10s)

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Player Development Lead for Under 9-10 age groups. This full-time role is based at the Academy with a salary of £25,000 to £30,000. The successful candidate will lead individual player development, manage Academy coaches, and deliver the Academy methodology. Key requirements include a UEFA B Licence, minimum five years coaching experience, and proficiency in Sportscode/Hudl.

  • Key Relationships: Technical Development Lead, Tactical Development Lead, Head of Methodology, Player Development Lead (Under 11-12s), Pre-Academy staff, Head of Academy Recruitment
  • Remuneration: £25,000 to £30,000 (dependant on experience)
  • Contract: Full Time (40 hours)
  • Working Schedule: Irregular hours including evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, Bank Holidays based around team schedules

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the individual development of players in Under 9-10 age groups in line with Academy methodology
  • Lead progression and pathway of players in and out of Under 9-10 age groups, including Pre-Academy
  • Manage review and IDT meeting process for players in Under 9-10 age groups
  • Ensure all PMA tasks are completed by staff working with Under 9-10 age groups
  • Lead effective review and feedback programme with players, coaches and families
  • Play key role in delivery and evaluation of Academy methodology, play book and curriculum content
  • Lead care and support of well-being of Under 9-10 players in collaboration with EPCS department
  • Assist cross-department projects improving data and video feedback mechanisms
  • Support Head of Coaching, Head of Methodology and Head of Individual Development with staff education initiatives for Under 9-10 staff
  • Share relevant video, data and other resources using various [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] platforms
  • Carry out any other reasonable management requests

Person Specifications

Qualifications

  • Essential: UEFA B Licence; Undergraduate degree in Sports Coaching or related subject; FA Learning Safeguarding Children Certificate & FA Emergency Aid in Football Certificate; CRB check
  • Desirable: Postgraduate degree; UEFA A Licence and/or UEFA Elite Youth Licence; FA Advanced Youth Award

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Essential: Minimum 3 years experience in Academy coaching/MDT; Minimum 5 years coaching in Academy; Individual player and staff development; Strong technical football knowledge; Relating to young people; Proficient in Sportscode/Hudl; Experience in pressurised situations; Excellent communication, written and IT skills; Ability to adapt
  • Desirable: 3 years specialising in technical development programmes; Creating/delivering/evaluating Academy curriculum; Telestration tools (HUDL Studio, Piero, CoachPaint)
