U18 Performance Analyst

Salary: Dependent on experience

Type: Permanent / Full-time (40 hours per week)

The Role

We are looking for a hard-working, pro-active, knowledgeable, and passionate individual to add to our analysis department. The ideal candidate will provide age-appropriate analytical support to drive player engagement across all academy age groups and facilitate player development. This individual will also participate and contribute to other department projects when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Film, capture and code academy games and training.
  • Supervise undergraduate interns when required.
  • Analysis of both our team and opposition team in accordance with club philosophy.
  • Creation and delivery of match information to both players and coaches.
  • Produce additional video and data content to support Academy needs (e.g., Coaches CPD meetings, Team and Player montages).
  • Assist cross department projects which aim to improve the way data and video is used as a feedback mechanism.
  • Assist in compiling team and individual tactical and physical reports supported by specific video clipping.
  • Develop creative analysis resources to improve feedback with coaches.
  • Contribute to the development and management of best practice video libraries for use of all [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Academy Coaches and Analysts.
  • Sharing of relevant video, data and other resources with staff, players and parents using various [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Academy platforms.
  • Contribute to the overall development of the Academy Performance Analysis Department.
  • Form development plans with coaches to be delivered to players.
  • Video coding and editing to support the created reports.
  • Ensuring filming of training and games is completed.
  • Manage staff through a PDR process.
  • Pre-Match Tasks: Individual Opposition Reporting, hold and support team meetings, liaise with manager and staff in the build-up to games.
  • Live Tasks: Live coding of games.
  • Post-Match Tasks: Analysis, reporting and databasing; individual analysis alongside coaching staff; data-analysis.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in relevant field (Performance Analysis, Sport Science, Sports Coaching).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience providing analytical support within an elite football environment.
  • Football coaching qualifications (FA level 2 or equivalent).
  • Proficient in industry standard software (Sportscode / Coach Paint / Hudl).
  • Passion for football and demonstrable tactical knowledge.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of filming, capturing and analysing.
  • Ability to maintain standards under time pressure.

Desirable

  • UEFA B Licence.
  • Masters degree in relevant field.
  • Experience managing and visualising large data sets.
  • Knowledge of scripting language and its use within professional football.
