Education Manager (Foundation)

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring an Education Manager to oversee education provision across South Wales. Based at Swansea.com Stadium. Full-time, permanent. Salary £28,000 - £33,000 per year.

Role Responsibilities

  • To plan, develop, implement and grow the Foundation's education offer to school partners across South Wales
  • To ensure all project KPI’s and outcomes are achieved for all education projects.
  • To provide line management to Education Coordinators and PL Inspires Coordinator to ensure they carry out their duties in accordance with their job description.
  • Undertake performance reviews on a regular basis, identifying areas of strength and development needs, and implementing strategies to support and develop each person.
  • To develop and implement robust quality assurance mechanisms to ensure the highest standards are maintained across Foundation’s education delivery.
  • Identify, create, and manage strong relationships with a range of educational establishments to ensure the ongoing success of Foundation projects.
  • To maximise income generation of unrestricted funding through recruitment of schools into our projects. This will also entail exploring new models and means of generating income through education activities.
  • Contribute towards the planning, monitoring, and forecasting of project budgets
  • To monitor and evaluate the success of education projects, in line with the Foundations’ impact reporting framework and the requirements of funders.
  • Explore opportunities to expand the work of the Foundation to encompass a further and higher education offer, including a post-16 education programme aligned to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Academy with teams representing [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] in the EFL CEFA league
  • To complete regular monitoring reports both internally and externally summarising the progress of projects.
  • Compile reports to funders and other stakeholders evidencing the impact of the programme
  • To create maintain and update media information, statistics and case studies to publicise the impact of the programme.
  • To liaise with the Publicity Officer on any good news stories or website/social media promotion of activities.
  • To be the safeguarding lead within the education department, ensuring all sessions are delivered in line with Foundation guidelines relating to health and safety and safeguarding.
  • To ensure data is collected, stored and processes in accordance with the Foundation Data Protection policy along with GDPR regulations
  • Attend and complete relevant training to develop knowledge and skills and to seek out additional CPD opportunities.
  • Attend relevant Premier League conferences and events and be main point of contact for PLCF on all matters relating to education projects.
  • Continually review and seek to enhance and develop our education offer to ensure projects continue to meet the needs of their intended beneficiaries.
  • To strive for innovative delivery methods and approaches; to ensure the Foundations’ educational priorities for delivery are both relevant and current.
  • To develop a calendar of events based around key themes within the academic year (for example world book day, black history month etc.)
  • To keep up to date with changes and developments in the education sector including being familiar with any changes to curriculum, relevant education legislation, education funding streams.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • A sport or physical education related degree
  • UEFA C Certificate (or equivalent UKCC Level 2 coaching qualification in a different sport)

Desirable:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • 1st4Sport Level 3 Certificate in Supporting the Delivery of PE and School Sport (PESS)

Experience

  • Significant experience of working within a school-based setting
  • A good understanding of the education landscape in Wales, including Primary, Secondary, Further and Higher education
  • Experience of developing and delivering engaging practical and classroom sessions within an education setting
  • Experience of preparing age appropriate and engaging lesson plans
  • Experience of line managing a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience of delivering education-based programmes to a high standard
  • Experience of project management including delivering on KPIs
  • Budget management experience
  • Report writing experience with the ability to clearly evidence impact of the projects

Personal Qualities

  • Passionate about physical education and it’s long-term impact on young people
  • A sound understanding of Health and Wellbeing principles and their place within the curriculum
  • Highly organised with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • A passion for delivering outstanding customer service
  • An excellent knowledge and understanding of safeguarding including principles, procedures and thresholds
  • Strong administrative, organisational and IT skills
  • Strong leadership skills with high levels of emotional intelligence
  • Highly ambitious with a drive and determination to achieve success
  • An openness to new ideas and ways of working with a commitment to ongoing personal development
  • Valid driving licence with business insurance, access to own transport to travel across South West Wales as required
