Salary: £12.21/hour

Location: Swansea, UK

Role and Responsibilities

  • Understand general responsibilities towards health and safety of all spectators including those with disabilities and children, other stewards, ground staff and themselves.
  • Control or direct spectators entering or leaving the ground to achieve an even flow of people and prevent obstruction.
  • Ensure gangways and exits are kept clear.
  • Assist in safe operation of the ground; stewards are employed to perform specific duties and not to view the activity.
  • Staff entrances, exits and strategic points such as segregation, perimeter and exit doors or gates.
  • Recognise crowd conditions to ensure safe dispersal and prevent overcrowding.
  • Assist Emergency Services if required.
  • Respond to emergencies, raise alarm and take necessary immediate action.
  • Undertake specific duties in an emergency as directed by Safety Officer or Emergency Services Officer, provided safe and confident.
  • Be vigilant and report suspicious, unidentified or unattended packages.
  • Be vigilant and report behaviour demonstrating hostility towards disability, race, religion, sexual orientation or transgender identity.
  • Report anti-social behaviour, foul/abusive language or discriminatory behaviour.
  • Watch the crowd and be aware of incidents affecting crowd behaviour.
  • Be familiar with Stadium's Evacuation Procedures.
  • Not consume alcohol/illegal substances before or during event.
  • Not use personal mobile phone or electronic device during working hours; items left in lockers.
  • No physical or verbal gestures to incite spectators.
  • For ejections, report to West Stand Team to avoid physical conduct; ejection reported to Safety Officer/Control Room, person taken to police room.
  • Remain available until end of game and stadium is cleared.
  • Sign in and out under supervision of administration steward; no false recording of times.
  • Prevent spectators entering field of play and surrounding areas.
  • Identify offenders using foul, abusive, discriminatory language or threatening behaviour.
  • Identify offenders who throw missiles/objects.

Additional Requirements

Criminal Record Check: This role will require an Enhanced DBS Check.
