FULL DESCRIPTION

Part Time Dispenser

The successful applicant will be responsible for processing prescriptions in accordance with practice policy and legislation. We are looking for a qualified dispenser (NVQ Level 2/3). This is a part-time role working 15 hours per week on Monday & Thursday, 07:30-15:30. Salary £13.45 per hour. Permanent contract.

Main Duties

  • Dispensing and checking medication in line with legal and practice standards
  • Helping patients with prescription queries and collecting charges
  • Processing repeats and keeping accurate electronic records
  • Supporting stock control, ordering, and rotation
  • Maintaining a safe, tidy dispensary and following SOPs
  • Working closely with GPs, nurses, and reception teams

Essential Qualifications

  • Qualified Dispenser (NVQ Level 2)
  • GCSE (or equivalent) English & Maths at Grade C or above

Essential Experience

  • Experience of working in a dispensary
  • Experience of working in primary care
  • Broad knowledge of General Practice
  • Experience working with the general public/patients

Essential Skills

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong IT skills
  • Clear, polite telephone manner
  • Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
  • EMIS/SystmOne/Vision user skills
  • Effective time management
