React Native Lead Developer

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is looking for a React Native Lead Developer to lead the architecture and development of cross-platform OTT front-end applications for Mobile (iOS/Android), STB, and Smart TVs (Android TV, Tizen, WebOS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture and development of cross-platform OTT front-end applications for Mobile (iOS/Android), STB, and Smart TVs (Android TV, Tizen, WebOS) using React Native.
  • Build and optimize media and streaming applications, ensuring high-quality video playback, performance, and reliability across platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver scalable, user-centric streaming experiences.
  • Leverage solid JavaScript expertise to build and maintain applications for Samsung Tizen and LG WebOS ecosystems.
  • Define technical standards and best practices, conducting regular code reviews and ensuring consistency across projects.
  • Mentor and guide development teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Integrate third-party SDKs and APIs (e.g., analytics, DRM, content delivery, ad tech) into OTT applications.
  • Drive performance optimization across devices, ensuring smooth navigation, responsive UI, and efficient resource usage.
  • Stay current with OTT and Smart TV technologies, evaluating new tools and frameworks to enhance platform capabilities.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6-10 years of professional experience in front-end or mobile application development, with 3+ years leading teams or projects.
  • Proven experience delivering OTT, media, or streaming applications across multiple platforms.

Technical Skills

  • Expert-level proficiency in React Native, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript.
  • Strong experience building cross-platform apps for iOS, Android, Android TV, Apple TV, STB, and Smart TV platforms (Tizen, WebOS).
  • In-depth understanding of Smart TV ecosystems, including Samsung Tizen and LG WebOS application development.
  • Hands-on experience with media playback frameworks, DRM, and streaming technologies (e.g., HLS, DASH, ExoPlayer, AVPlayer).
  • Familiarity with microservices-based architectures, RESTful APIs, and GraphQL integrations.
  • Strong grasp of performance optimization, memory management, and device-specific debugging.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and app store deployments.
