Webmaster and Website Manager

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is a leading IT services provider. We are seeking a Webmaster/Website Manager. Location: Leicester. Remote work. Salary: £52,300 - £64,000 per annum. Permanent, full-time.

Job Purpose

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain, and monitor website performance.
  • Oversee content publishing and ensure accuracy.
  • Perform regular usability, SEO, and accessibility audits.
  • Monitor and improve website speed and responsiveness.
  • Implement security measures, backups, and vulnerability checks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve website issues.
  • Collaborate with designers, developers, and stakeholders.
  • Manage CMS platforms like WordPress, Drupal.
  • Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
  • Track metrics using Google Analytics.
  • Implement SEO best practices.
  • Support website migrations and deployments.
  • Maintain documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and accessibility standards.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Web Development or related.
  • 5+ years experience as Webmaster or Website Manager.
  • Strong CMS experience (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla).
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Experience with hosting, domain management, server config.
  • Expertise in website security and backups.
  • SEO and Google Analytics knowledge.
  • Understanding of WCAG and usability.
  • Familiarity with Git.
  • Agile experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
