Job Description

As a Casual Food and Beverage Supervisor, you will report to the Customer Experience Manager and be responsible for the management and support of F&B Assistants on shift. You'll work closely with the Deputy Customer Experience Manager and the VIP and Hospitality Manager. The venue has 9 F&B outlets across 3 levels, the auditorium, and 2 VIP Lounges. An average shift involves briefing the team, setting up sales areas, providing on-shift training, restocking, changing kegs, handling customer queries, and ensuring thorough cleaning and preparation for the next shift. In VIP Lounges, you will also greet guests and provide table service. You will help drive sales, understand targets, and improve F&B KPIs. Additional shifts as F&B Assistant are available for those wanting more hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent service and quality food and beverages, minimising wastage and adhering to stock management procedures.
  • Work alongside team members to create a friendly and welcoming environment.
  • Supervise, engage, and motivate the F&B Assistant team on shift.
  • Assist in training the team to achieve the Arena’s goals.
  • Maintain a high profile and welcoming presence, acting as host for designated guests.
  • Assist the Head of Food & Beverage in defining the right customer experience.
  • Assist the Duty Manager with opening and closing procedures.
  • Ensure emergency evacuation procedures are followed and drills conducted.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and staff presentation.
  • Implement company policies and procedures, including stock matters.
  • Provide excellent communication within the venue team.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of venue, shows, and products to recommend additional services.
  • Know and exceed sales targets and KPIs.
  • Identify health and safety risks and take appropriate actions.
  • Adhere to legal health and safety requirements and understand food/drink allergens.

Your Skills, Qualities, and Experience

Essential

  • Experience working in a fast-paced bar/service environment
  • Experience delivering excellent customer service
  • Basic knowledge of stock control systems
  • Ability to communicate positively and effectively
  • Experience working with a till and PDQ system
  • Proactive attitude with confident decision-making for customer, team, and business benefit
  • Empathetic approach to people management and positive attitude toward equality and inclusion
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends
  • Attention to detail regarding cleaning and hygiene

Desirable

  • Experience managing a team on shift
  • First Aid Qualification
  • Food Hygiene Qualification (Level 2/3)
  • Welsh Speaker
