School Site Supervisor job summary

Make a real difference - Be the heartbeat of our school and keep our school running well. We're looking for a skilled, hands-on Site Supervisor to join our school community — someone who takes ownership, works with pride and understands that a well-run site is the foundation everything else is built on.

The Role 36.5 hours per week | 6:00am - 2:00pm. You'll be the first through the door each morning and the reason the day runs smoothly. From planned maintenance to reactive fixes, from health and safety compliance to coordinating contractors — you'll keep every corner of our site safe, clean and ready for the 300 children and staff who depend on it every day.

What you'll be doing

  • Maintaining buildings and grounds to a consistently high standard — repairs, decorating and general upkeep
  • Opening the site, managing alarms and keeping the premises secure
  • Operating heating systems and building management systems
  • Coordinating external contractors — catering, cleaning and grounds — to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Supporting room set-ups, furniture and equipment moves as needed
  • Managing waste and keeping the site clean, tidy and presentable
  • Supporting out-of-hours use of the premises
  • Ensuring full compliance with health and safety legislation and best practice

What we're looking for

  • Practical, resourceful and able to turn your hand to most things
  • Proactive — you spot issues and fix them before they become problems
  • Solid working knowledge of health and safety requirements
  • A confident, positive communicator with staff, contractors and visitors
  • Reliable, self-motivated and calm under pressure
  • Someone who takes real pride in their environment
