Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organised, creative and student-centered Careers and Communication Lead to play a pivotal role in shaping both the future pathways of our students and the public profile of our school. This is a unique and influential post that combines strategic leadership of Careers, Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) with responsibility for school communications and marketing. The successful candidate will ensure all students receive high quality, impartial careers guidance while also leading professional, engaging and values-driven communication with families, partners and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities

Careers and CEIAG

  • Lead and develop a whole-school careers strategy aligned with the Gatsby Benchmarks and statutory guidance
  • Provide one-to-one impartial guidance for Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 students and support post-16 and post-18 progression
  • Lead work experience programmes in Year 10 and Year 12
  • Build strong relationships with employers, FE/HE providers and training organisations
  • Coordinate careers events, employer encounters, assemblies and parent sessions
  • Track destinations and support young people at risk of becoming NEET

Communications and Marketing

  • Lead the school's communications and marketing strategy across all platforms
  • Produce the school communication publications, maintain the website and manage social-media channels
  • Create high-quality digital and printed materials including prospectuses, options booklets and transition resources
  • Support student recruitment for Year 7 and Sixth Form and strengthen the school's public profile
  • Ensure communications are accurate, inclusive, engaging and fully compliant with safeguarding and GDPR

Person Specification

The successful candidate will:

  • Have (or be willing to work towards) a Level 6 Careers Guidance qualification
  • Have experience delivering or supporting careers guidance for young people
  • Demonstrate strong written, verbal and digital communication skills
  • Be confident working with students, families, staff and external partners
  • Be highly organised, creative and detail focused
  • Show a strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and raising aspirations

Experience in marketing, media, design or employer engagement is desirable but not essential.
