Inspirational part time teacher for English-French bilingual stream job summary
The Quality First Education (Q1E) Trust seeks strong class teachers who share our drive for improvement, excellence and equality.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for teachers to work in our English-French bilingual stream. You do not need to be able to speak French (although we are always keen to hear from those who do)!
At [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] we have around 300 pupils, a fantastic staff team and a supportive parent/carer community. Our school is truly unique as we offer pupils the opportunity to be educated in a bilingual setting. Working in partnership with a French primary school, École de Wix, we offer a bilingual stream, which is very popular with local families. It is a very exciting stream to work in.
Pupils in our bilingual stream are taught one week in English by a teacher from our team, and the following week in French, taught by a teacher from École de Wix. The curriculum has been specially designed to meet the expectations of both the English and French National Curriculum.
Full time teachers in this stream commonly teach two classes, on alternate weeks. For example, you teach Year 3 one week, Year 4 the next week, then Year 3 again.
Part time teachers in this stream work one full week, then one day the following week. This is equivalent to a 0.6 contract. You will teach a different class each week on a two week rota. We are open to discussing additional working time.

About our Trust
Q1E is a primary-only Trust of four schools in London, and we seek teachers who share our vision of an excellent education for all. We pride ourselves on our 'quality first' provision, for our children, staff, and schools.
At Q1E, we believe that ‘the quality of an education system (or school) cannot exceed the quality of its teachers” (McKinsey 2007). We provide excellent opportunities for class teachers, with outstanding professional development and support from the outset.
We ensure our teachers have the resources they need to do an excellent job, supported by a high quality, well sequenced curriculum. We provide you with plans for all lessons, in all core and foundation subjects.
Our staff and schools are supported by great leaders, as well as our central team who provide ongoing pedagogical support and training.
“Staff across the Trust’s schools work together to plan their teaching. This sharing of expertise and resources is of much benefit to pupils and keeps staff workload manageable.” (Ofsted).
Our trust is big enough to have excellent support and resources, and a great network of colleagues to work with and learn from - but small enough for colleagues to know each other really well, and provide bespoke support.
